We’re about the make the Internet really crazy. Why? We’ve decided on a list of the five best action movies to ever grace the big screen. You risk provoking the wrath and anger of those who disagree with your ‘best ever’ or “all-time” list. Sounds like fun, huh?

It’s impossible to put together a list that is unrivaled. You can argue to your blue-in-the face about the merits of the films you have chosen. Rushmore is a great idea, but your opinion will only be that, in the end. Everyone has a favorite, and everyone feels the need to share that with the rest of us.

It can be difficult for film and TV fans to keep up with the latest releases and top-notch films. There are many blogs and websites dedicated to movie reviews that provide high-quality critical reviews and recommendations. They are essential because without them, no one could keep up with all the new releases. By the time a movie is chosen to be watched, it’s already available on streaming services, or has been nominated for an award. Three movies are available to watch now before the awards season.

It’s fun to make a list of the best movies in a particular genre. You have to dig deep into the archives to see how many movies are in competition. It forces you to watch and rewatch movies to make sure your opinion is as solid as possible. You may not have the prettiest hedging in the neighborhood but you know [insert the genre here] films inside and out.

Enough talk. The five best action films of all time (in no particular sequence) are listed below:

The Long Kiss Goodnight – Hollywood is fond of the idea of a super agent not knowing who they are, but this is really a lot fun. The film has a mid-90s edge and grit, an 80s vibe, and plenty of action.

Raiders of the Lost Ark– This first movie in the Indiana Jones franchise set a standard that few films can match.

Jason Mamoa reprises his role of Aquaman in this epic tale. The film is set in the underwater city Atlantis, which was once considered the most advanced civilization of the world. Now, it’s ruled by King Orm – a power-hungry ruler who is overzealous. The plan is to conquer and divide the other underwater cities, one by one. But the ultimate goal is to take over the entire human race. The only thing standing in his path is Aquaman, the hybrid brother of King Orm. Aquaman embarks on a hero’s journey with his royal advisor to create a plan to save humanity and restore the rule of Atlantis.

Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon– Although martial arts movies are not new to the big screen at all, this one was the first that brought together art and action. This is an epic film that will stay with you long after the credits have rolled.

Die Hard – The first of many action films that will be released in the future, this is arguably the most amazing Christmas movie of all time. This franchise is sure to be a show-stopper, and the first film in the series is must-see TV.

The Matrix – Although the sequels were not up to standard and did not deliver on the promise of the first film, this movie is still a great action flick. The storyline is also impressive, with its high-level and otherworldly nature.

Venom is the story of Marvel’s strangest and most unusual villain, Venom. In the comic series, Venom is one of Spider Man’s most dangerous enemies. Eddie Brock, a journalist in this film, is trying to bring down Carlton Drake who is a wealthy and powerful inventor, the founder of Life Foundation. Eddie Brock, a journalist, comes into contact with a life form alien that merges with his body while investigating in one of the laboratories. Venom, who lives on Brock’s body as a suit of armor, offers Brock superhuman strength and powers that are too powerful to resist. As the stakes rise, things become more interesting when Carlton Drake puts on his “suit”.

There are simply too many action films to create a perfect “all-time” list. You will miss some eras and countries. You can guess as well as anyone what an action film is without having a clear definition. Don’t be afraid to make a list of the movies you like. This makes for a great discussion and makes you appreciate the particular genre.
